Fernando Lara

Fernando Lara is a journalist from Madrid. He was employed at several magazines specializing himself in the information and cinematographic writing. With several publications in his career, between 1984 and 2004 he was the director of the Seminci, where he organized the Congress on ?Promotion and diffusion of the European cinema ", that gave origin to the "Letter of Valladolid ". He was one of the founders of the European Coordinator of Festivals of Cinema, for whose Executive Committee turned out to be chosen and in 2002 he coordinated the "Meeting on the European cinema (The author and his work)", organized on the occasion of election of Salamanca like City European of Culture. Among 2005 and 2009 he has been General Manager of the I.C.A.A. and, during this time, he elaborated the Law of the Cinema (December, 2007) and the Royal decree that develops it (December, 2008). He possesses the Gentleman's distinction of the Order of the Arts and the Letters of France, granted in 2007.
