Gerardo Olivares

Born in 1964 in Córdoba, Gerardo Olivares was the first Spaniard in won la Espiga de Oro of the Festival of Valladolid thanks to his movie 14 Kilómetros. Tireless traveller, he began to cross the world in 1987 while he was studying Sciences of the Information. With 20 years, he wrote his first article on the nomads who live beyond the Polar Circle the Arctic. From this moment he began to collaborate in the magazine Los Aventureros and from 1992 his documentary projects were emitted in TVE as «La ruta de las Córdobas» and «La ruta de los Exploradores». In the year 2000, his space «La ruta de Samarkanda» was the program with more audience of the Spanish television channel La 2 and in 2005 he moves to the fiction thanks to La gran final filmed in Mongolia, the Sahara and the Brazilian Amazonía. Later it would come 14 Kilómetros (2007), on the drama of the African immigration, with which he obtained multitude of international prizes. At the moment he has waiting to released the movie Entre lobos, based on true stories and led by Juan Jose Ballesta.
