JAVIER CORCUERA
BIOGRAPHY
He was bonr in Perú, but he is from Madrid of adoption. He came to Madrid in 1986 and there he graduated in the Faculty of Sciences of the Image of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Javier Corcuera was announced in Spain thanks to his first full-lenght film, La espalda del mundo (2000), presented in the Festival of San Sebastian, produced by Elias Querejeta and with the collaboration of the filmmaker Fernando León in the script. He has worked as teacher of cinema, and also he has realized diverse documentaries as Minuesa, una ocupación con historia (1994), IZBJEGGLICE (Refugiados, 1995), Perú, presos inocentes (1996), Chiapas, hablan los rebeldes (1998), Doñana, memoria de un desastre (1998).
In 2002 he continued his way into the documentary full-lenght film across La guerrilla de la memoria and after that Condenados al corredor (2003), Invierno en Bagdad (2005) and diverse segments for the collective movies En el mundo a cada rato (2004) and Invisibles (2005). His protest spirit and his political and social conscience, has marked his entire cinematographic career.
