Artícle 1
DATE and PLACE:
The 7th Edition of ImagineIndia Madrid Indian Film Festival will take place in the city of Madrid from 23rd May to 2nd June 2008.
Artícle 2
PURPOSE
The Festival ImagineIndia is devoted to promote friendship and cooperation between Indian Subcontinent and Spain and along with it the European Union.
It's aim is to showcase and focus attention on films coming mainly from India, but with some concessions to the other countries of the Indian Subcontinent, in order to contribute to the better comprehension of Indian Culture, and to the development of more fluid relations among the Indian Subcontinent and Europe.
Artícle 3
COMPETITIVE SECTION
The Selection Committee of the Festival is entitled to select and invite the films which will be presented in the Official Competition or Out of Competition Section.
The films which meet the following conditions will be selected by invitation for the Festival,s Competitive section.
1) Films that have been produced during the 24 months preceding the Festival.
2) Films that respect the aims of the Festival as mentioned in Article 1.
This section has three categories :
3. 1. Full - length feature films.
3. 2. Short films up to 45 minutes.
3. 3. Documentary films.
Artícle 4
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
4. 1. The competitive section is open to international submissions. Any producer and / or director with the rights to the film submitted may participate in this section.
4. 2. Each filmmaker or producer may submit as many films as he / she wishes.
4. 3. It will be required for all selected films to be presented in the format with best projection quality, irrespective of the format in which it was originally made. In any case the only formats at ImagineIndia Festival 2007 will be 35mm film, Betacam digital or sp video. And finally in case of shorts or documentaries also in DVD pal format.
4. 4. The films competing must provide the festival with the dialogue sheet at least in english or spanish.
Artícle 5
ENTRY.
In order to submit an entry, a copy of the film on DVD Z-2, or VHS-pal video must be sent along with its duly completed entry form before April 30. 2007, to :

In addition to the entry form, the following must be included :
Synopsis.
Biography of the director.
Filmography of the director.
List of the festivals where the film has participated.
Awards won.
Two photographs from the film and one of the director with enough resolution for printing purpose.
Artícle 6
SELECTION
The Organising Committee designates the members of the International Jury.
The jury is composed of three reputed personalities from Spain, India or other nationalities.
Decisions will be reached by unanimity.
No person having taken part in any manner in a film in competition may be on the Jury.
There will be no right of appeal against the decision of the Selection Committee.
The Director of the Festival has the power to settle all cases not covered by the present rules.
The selected movies will have to be sent in the format with best projection quality before May 2, 2007 to :

In addition, those selected will send a DVD with an E.P.K. containing few minutes from the film for promotional purposes. The participants authorize the organization to use these extracts from the films in any media for the purpose of promoting the festival. It will also be allowed to use photographs from the films and of the directors in the press and other media, as well as in the making of the Festival Catalogue.
Article 7
AWARDS The Juries, will grant the following official awards from among all the films selected in the Official Competition Sections, from which The award for best film will include the trophy GOLDEN CHAKRA:
7.1. Full - length feature films :
JURY FIRST PRIZE, and GOLDEN CHAKRA.
JURY SECOND PRIZE, to be awarded a diploma.
JURY HONORARY MENTION, to be awarded a diploma.
AUDIENCE AWARD, to be awarded a diploma.
7.2 Best young film director :
JURY FIRST PRIZE, to be awarded trophy.
JURY HONORARY MENTION, to be awarded diploma.
7.3 Shorts :
JURY FIRST PRIZE, to be awarded diploma.
7.4 Documentary :
JURY FIRST PRIZE, to be awarded diploma.
PRIZE to the best musical composer, to be awarded diploma.
PRIZE to the film which better promote humanistic values, to be awarded diploma.
PRIZE to the film which better promote female values, to be awarded diploma.
HONORARY PRIZE to lifetime achievement, to be awarded trophy.
Artícle 8
SHIPMENT and RETURN of films
The shipping and handling of copies will be paid by the contestants.
The copies on DVD or VHS video to be used in the selection process will not be returned and will become part of the Festival,s archive.
All films sent to the contest as well as those remaining in the Festival,s possession for having won an award may be consulted in private viewings for educational or research purposes, with the specific permission from its authors.
The Festival will cover the insurance on the films from their reception until their return. In case of destruction or loss of a copy, the Festival,s responsibility will be limited, and in no case will it not go beyond the cost for a new copy, according to current rates in Spanish laboratories for the issuance of a standard copy.
Article 9
ADHERENCE TO THE CONDITIONS
Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of all the afore-mentioned regulations.
These rules apply to all categories of the Official Sections: Competition and Out of Competition.
