SYNOPSIS

A loser gets into a big problem, and with him his family, when he asked for a loan to a dangerous gangster called Black Dog, lying him by saying that his father has died and he needs the money to cover funeral expenses. Because Black Dog was a friend of his father, he gives him the money. But his lie will be discovered soon putting him in a lot of problems.
On key play, Chi Yin immerses us in a script full of surprises and in a film that also provides us a key to understand the culture and traditional Taiwanese customs and offers us a critical view of the conditions of working class life of his country.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in 1950 in Taipei, Taiwan, he had begun making films in the mid-nineties. His first film, In to Strange City (1996), intermingled the romance with the politics in a story about a woman who begins a relationship with a married businessman, so that the director managed to draw a harsh look both social and human. In 2000 he co-direct together with Hsu Li-Kong Fleeing by Night, setting in 1930s in China, which was combining tragedy and History across the romance between two men who were getting brought into the gangster?s underworld of the time. This is a dare movie that speaks about some topics, which are taboos for the Chinese?s government, such as political corruption and homosexual relationships. Let us remember that Hsu Li-Kong has been one of the most important producers in the Taiwanese?s cinematography: among his list of movies are included as Ang Lee's Pushing Hands (1992), or Vive L'Amour (1994) by Tsai Ming Liang and this Chi Yin's movie that occupies us, Black Dog is Coming. The Yin Chi latest film, Bad Moon, has also been co-directed, this time together with the debutant Lu Willing.
